Early childhood employment-based pathway program
The Victorian Government Early Childhood Tertiary Partnership courses offer employment-based options for students to complete study online, while working in the sector. There are a limited number of places for the early childhood education pathways.
Secondary teaching employment-based pathway program
Deakin’s Regional and Inclusive Secondary Education (RISE) program, funded by the Victorian Government Department of Education’s Teach Today initiative, gives eligible Master of Teaching (Secondary) students the opportunity to gain para-professional teaching employment within a Victorian Government Secondary School while still studying. The Professional Learning Education Hub offers unique professional learning opportunities for educators and teachers. Through online and face-to-face workshops, seminars, short courses and online communities, you'll gain access to Deakin’s teaching and learning experts, as well as internationally and nationally recognised education researchers.
Become an educational support officer
Make a positive impact on the lives of children with disabilities by working as an educational support officer (integration or teacher aide). Our Education Support Professional Certificate is designed for prospective or employed educational support officers, allied health and educational professionals, and parents or caregivers of children with disabilities.
At the end of this professional learning course, current Deakin University students who are undertaking an undergraduate teaching program can elect to do a formal assessment task to accrue one credit point towards an elective unit.
